Imagine a car-free day in Cheltenham!

1 September 2020

Each year in September, there is a World Car Free Day, when all around the world, towns and cities allow people to experience streets free of motor traffic. It’s a great chance to re-imagine our streets around people. Car-free days have been held in towns like Bath, major cities like London and Paris, and in towns across Europe.

Clean Air Cheltenham wants to make this happen, here in Cheltenham, in 2021.

It will take time to organise, and we need to get our local councillors on board, to agree to close the roads.

We’re asking people to write to both your borough councillor and your county councillor, saying that you want Cheltenham to go car-free on September 22nd 2021.

You can get the email address of your borough councillor here and your county councillor here, and more information about World Car Free Day here.
