Cheltenham’s police helping to tackle emissions

Cheltenham police car using electric cars

27 October 2020

Spotted on the High Street today. If the Police can do it, why can’t we all?

But then a couple of rather knotty considerations present themselves:

  • We may have reduced emissions, but we’re still left with overcrowded and noisy roads, and particulate pollution from tyres and brakes is still getting into our air and washing into our oceans and waterways
  • If we continue to use electricity created by the nuclear industry, we are inadvertently contributing to funding the manufacture of nuclear weapons; so closely are the domestic and military industries intertwined.

What alternatives do we have?

If no satisfactory ones exist, can we create some?
